Yeah, I don’t really read the news… I base these things on commercials…

Okay, so apparently, there’s a movie about Jessica Lynch coming out on NBC, and an interview with her… possibly tonight(?) on ABC. I can’t imagine that she wants this much attention, but then, I’m not her, so maybe she does. If it were me, I’d've agreed to let Diane Sawyer come to interview me, and I would’ve spent the entire time telling her and the rest of the media to leave me the heck alone and get some good television shows on their networks while they’re at it.

Still…

What’s she done to warrent the attention, exactly? She went to Iraq, got captured, and was then rescued. I’m glad she’s home. Really, I am. I’m glad she saw fit to fight for on her country’s behalf, because I do understand that there are reasons why we need people to fight for us, even if I choose not to fight myself. Other people have gone over to fight. Some of them have paid for that in ways that are as high or higher than what Pvt. Lynch went through.

I’m sure she’s a nice person, and I don’t mean to belittle what she’s gone through, but, GEEZ people. Why don’t those of you in the news media try reporting some news instead of “harassing” (again — in her situation, I’d take it as harassment. Maybe she doesn’t. I’ll just assume she does, though.) a young woman who’s already been through hell?
