Okay, so if a dog sniffs the air outside your car, and detects the smell of drugs, I’ve no problem with the car being searched, provided that the car was pulled over in the normal realm of duty for the police officer. But having cops look at my electric bill and get a search warrant based solely on that bill seems absurd.

Especially in today’s world, I don’t see using a lot of electricity as something that can be considered a ‘red flag.’ I run two computers more or less constantly, and my sister’s computer is on a good portion of the time. Sure, there are illegal things that I could be doing with that electricity, but there are (obviously) a lot of legal things, too, and for that to be the entire basis of a warrant seems… stupid.
