I’ve been reading the archives of a few blogs. Some notable posts I’ve found:
- On December 30th, Publicola listed a few additions to his blogroll I haven’t read all the blogs he lists, but the ones I have are all good reads (with the only exception being this blog — I appreciate the link, though).
- An old (October 2003) post from Geek With a .45 discusses Disney’s Robin Hood and applies Eastern Mysticism to self-defense.
- An August 2004 post from Varifrank quotes George Orwell’s comments on Mahatma Ghandi and war.
One of the more telling quotes from Orwell:
According to Mr. Fischer, Gandhi’s view was that the German Jews ought to commit collective suicide, which “would have aroused the world and the people of Germany to Hitler’s violence.” After the war he justified himself the Jews had been killed anyway, and might as well have died significantly.
- Tony Woodlief, of Sand in the Gears lists 16 Things That Deserve a Good Slap (July 2004). I probably deserve a slap on occasion because of #8, but it’s still a decent read.
And, no, this isn’t an attempt to appear more prolific by having posts even on days when I don’t write anything.
It’s an acknowledgement that there’s no real need for my blog, as other people have said everything I might want to say, and they’ve done it better… not that that will stop me from blogging.
