There was a guest on the Neal Boortz show from the Washington Times yesterday. Unfortunately I didn’t catch his name. The last part of their conversation was about George Bush’s “misunderestimated” quote, and listening to them, I had the following thought.

George W. Bush is the Columbo of politics. Like Columbo, he’s underestimated, seen as an idiot who is merely bumbling his way through the job. Also like Columbo, he seems pretty adept at getting the job done, probably at least in part because he’s always misunderstood and underestimated.
