Indoor Voices Are Always Appreciated
After church tonight, we stopped at a local restaurant for a bite to eat. It was fairly empty — there were only people at two tables — but it was louder than most restaurants I’ve been in for a while. One of the tables had several young people (late teens, I’d guess) who were unreasonably loud and disruptive. At one point, when a couple of other customers came in, I heard one of the teens say, “You want what we’ve got, right? You can have it! It’s Jesus!”
All I could think was that what I really wanted was for them to suddenly gain a sense of decorum.
I’m all for being enthusiastic about one’s love for the Lord, but that wasn’t what these people were sharing. They were being rude and disruptive, and they were glorying not in God, but in the fact that they were annoying every other person in the room.
If I ever act like that, someone shoot me.
