“But this universe consists of paired dualities. What is the converse of authority? Mr. Rico.”
He had picked one I could answer. “Responsibility, sir.”
“Applause. Both for practical reasons and for mathematically verifiable moral reasons, authority and responsibility must be equal — else a balancing takes place as surely as current flows between unequal potential. To permit irresponsible authority is to sow disaster; to hold a man responsible for anything he does not control is to behave with blind idiocy.”

As Raj points out in the comments here (4th comment), Dean Esmay, owner of (and primary contributor to) Dean’s World, takes a Neanderthal-like attitude toward his family.
In his “Who Is Dean?” post, Dean wrote, “I am the proud owner of a dog, three cats, a wife, and a small boy named Jake”. He thinks he owns his wife and kid (kids, now)!
Raj tried to go easy on Esmay, obviously, by leaving out the rest of the quote (emphasis mine):
I am the proud owner of a dog, three cats, a wife, and a small boy named Jake, who I plan to sell to Gypsies once we’ve fattened him up enough. We used to have ferrets, but alas, tragedy struck and we don’t have them anymore. Still love the little furfers though. The wife was the best investment I ever made; I bought her over the internet from her parents from Poland, who put her on the block to help finance their retirement. I made the downpayment in 1995.
Not only does Esmay think he owns his wife, he purchased her from her parents. This trafficking in human life is even more appalling when you realize he’s planning to sell his son to Gypsies!
Obviously, Esmay is a monster who must immediately be removed from the blogosphere! Next thing you know, we’ll find out that he blends puppies!
