Open Source Media

LaShawn Barber writes about Open Source Media and the criticism it’s been getting from various conservative bloggers. I’ll admit to having no interest in Open Source Media myself, even if I had enough traffic that ads would generate revenue. I don’t see any real reason to criticize them, though, except for the name change. Open Source Media uses the acronym “OSM”, which seems vaguely familiar to me. It requires a doubletake when I go to one of my favorite blogs and see them talking about “OSM.”

It’s not a serious complaint, just a coincidence that’s notable for me and, quite rightly, not even a blip on the radar for Open Source Media.

I’m a two stack mind myself. One for data. One for return.

The correct spelling of two stack mind is FORTH

I’m not sure which is sadder:

- that I didn’t completely recall the reference (I thought I knew it, and most of my recollection was right, but wasn’t certain), or
- that I had actually heard of a programming language that was created before I was even born.
