I’m a Sucker For the Hype
I know I dropped a lot of comics a while back, but with everything that’s going on at DC, I’m thinking of changing that.
Here was the list:
- Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
- Amazing Spider-Man
- The New Avengers
- Young Avengers
- Fantastic Four
- All-Star Batman & Robin, the Boy Wonder
- Teen Titans
- Outsiders
- Ex Machina
- Fallen Angel
- Green Lantern
I’m definitely picking up 52, which is supposed to tell how we get from Infinite Crisis to the “one year later” point that all the books are picking up from.
Kurt Busiek on Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis? I’m not sure about a “new Aquaman”, but since no one’s written Arthur to my tastes since Peter David left the book, and since I trust Kurt, I’m picking this one up. Good bye, Fantastic Four.
Playing up the concept of Robin as a detective? I’d be 100% down for this one if I was sure it was Tim Drake, but there’ve been some scary things coming out of the rumor mill lately for the Bat-verse. If you’re playing up the detective angle, it seems like Tim would be your best bet. Still, I’m giving this one a shot, even if the guy involved is involved in that atrocious The Batman cartoon. At least Teen Titans and X-Men: Evolution were good. Good bye, All-Star Batman & Robin, the Boy Wonder.
I’m hearing rumors (but I can’t find a news post and I’m too lazy to look too hard) that both Busiek and Geoff Johns will be writing Superman titles, which means I’ll have to pick those up. I’ve nothing to drop for them, though, since I’m loving everything else I’m buying, so it’s a good thing that I just got a raise at work, isn’t it? So, here’s the list as it stands so far:
- Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
- Amazing Spider-Man
- The New Avengers
- Young Avengers
- Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis
- Robin
- Teen Titans
- Outsiders
- Ex Machina
- Fallen Angel
- Green Lantern
- 52
- Superman Titles?
