Let’s Go, Mountaineers
It looks like I’m heading to the Sugar Bowl with some friends to watch our alma mater, West Virginia University, get beat compete. It may or may not be obvious from what I’ve written here in the past, but I’m not a huge football fan. I like football (NCAA, anyway; I don’t care much for professional sports), but I’m not a huge fan. When they found out I was going, both my dad and my boss had the same reaction. “You’re going to a bowl game? Why?”
At some point in our lives, all of us have heard someone say that it’s the journey, not the destination, that’s important. In the case of travelling to the Sugar Bowl, that’s definitely true for me. I’m looking forward to the drive as much as I am the game itself. My wanderlust’s been in high gear for about the last month, and a bowl game is as good a reason as any to feed it.
I’ve got Beauties and Quotes for the next few days, but don’t expect any “real” posts while I’m gone.
