I have to confess, I enjoyed that game considerably more than I expected (I was more excited about the trip than the game itself). One of my friends said (sounding rather surprised, honestly) that he “even saw [me] getting into it.”

The Mountaineers (Registration Required – BugMeNot) started very well, but as the game became more of a, well, game than a blowout, it was one of the better games I’ve seen. (Though the only other WVU game I watched this year, against Louisville, was possibly more exciting, but the stakes weren’t as high.)

[Update: On the way back from the game, we sat near Murray Poole of the Brunswick News as he was writing this article about the Sugar Bowl. Thanks to Irishladdy for finding this one for me; I couldn't quite make out his name from the angle I had while reading over his shoulder, and my best guesses weren't turning anything up.]
