I was asked today whether I ever cried at movies. Since I’m neither heartless nor a liar, I was forced to answer, “It depends on the movie.” (C’mon, how could anyone remain dry-eyed watching Where the Red Fern Grows?)

On the other hand, I can honestly say I’ve never been moved to tears by a webcomic. I did come close, though, with this Something Positive.

If you’re not already reading Something Positive, don’t click that link. Some of the impact will be lost if you don’t “know” Fred and Faye. You’d really be better off if you started from the beginning, but there are a lot of strips there, and some of them (that first strip among them) might offend you. I think it’s worth it, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.

For those of you who aren’t reading Something Positive and don’t feel up to dealing with 4 years of strips (or, you’re easily offended), start here. You won’t quite get the same impact, but you should at least get SOME of it.
