I haven’t been blogging as much lately because, really, Dafydd has been doing it for me (and much better than I’d do it anyway). A while back, I mentioned a post of his that mentioned a discovery of a non-destructive way to harvest stem cells from embryos (and his ideas about what the Republican party should do about it). Now, he has a similar post up about the discovery that there is an abundance of stem cells in amniotic fluid.

Go and read, and make calls or write letters to your Republican Congressperson/President. Even if you don’t support everything (or, heck, even if you don’t support virtually anything) that the Republicans have been doing lately, it is absolutely imperative that we remember one thing — the alternative is much, much worse. As I’ve quoted before (and I still have never found the source of this quote, sadly), “When it comes to civil liberties, Republicans may be third rate firemen, but Democrats are first rate arsonists.”

It’s absolutely imperative that, especially in issues like this one, we don’t let the Democrats continue to lie about the Republicans and portray them as anti-science fundamentalists.
