The results are in, and Barack Obama will be the next President of the United States.
I’ve not made any bones about the fact that I strenuously disagree with a great many of his positions. I accept that as being a part of what makes America great is the fact that the hiring process for this job isn’t just up to any single person, so Obama got the job despite the misgivings of myself and many, many others.
Congratulations, President-elect Obama. I will likely continue to be passionately opposed to many of your policies, but I do sincerely congratulate you on a historic campaign and victory.
I didn’t think it was possible to be less enthused about a Presidential election than I was four years ago, but I was wrong. Regardless, I have voted. Now, I am going to strenuously ignore the news until tomorrow. If there is major breaking news that I must know (say, a terrorist attack, or someone in Charleston is giving away free ice cream), someone call me.
